Jacobs Vs Hadlow

3.43AM

The Madness Boxing Promotion launches a high energy boxing extravaganza at the Logan Entertainment Centre on the 19th of September 2009.

The Headline fight will feature former World Kickboxing champion Ian ‘Powerhouse’ Jacobs against William ‘Hardcore’ Hadlow in 8 rounds of fistic fury.

Despite having been voted as fighting in the best kickboxing fight ever seen on Foxtel, Jacobs is not going into the fight resting on his prior triumphs. He is preparing well for this fight teaming up again with his former trainer Wayne Spencer who guided him to World Titles in two weight divisions.

Jacobs has been fine tuning his boxing skills for this fight with an intense training schedule and has included three days of sparring in Sydney with former WBA World Champion Danny Green.

Hadlow’s camp remains confident of winning this fight and warns Jacobs that, “I’m going into this fight to win.  I have some great professional boxing people guiding me and I’m ready to come out firing. I’m fit, strong and feel very confident”.

Jacobs will make his professional boxing debut at the Madness Promotion and states his transition into boxing has been enjoyable so far. Jacobs believes ‘kickboxing is like riding motor-cross dirt bikes being very strenuous and erratic , while boxing is like driving a formula one racing car, being highly concentrated and intense’ and he is ‘loving the intensity and can’t wait for the challenge’.

The Madness Promotion will also feature a full professional boxing undercard staring Jarrod Fletcher the Commonwealth Games boxing gold medallist and 2008 Beijing Olympian, Amateur Kickboxing World Title holder Emilio Schmidt, New Zealand slugger Tainui Crouch, hard hitting Hungarian Balazs Varga and Geoff ‘Hollywood’ Frazer.

Fletcher is looking to establish a reputation in the Australian professional middleweight division and is finding his feet quickly as a professional.  “I’m confident going into every fight.  I’ve been doing all the preparation and I’m looking forward to getting in the ring at the Madness fight night promotion.”

Fletcher’s transition into professional boxing has the foundations of an extremely successful amateur career competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and achieving Gold Medal status at the 2006 commonwealth games in Melbourne as well as six years in Canberra training at the Australian Institute of Sport.

The Madness Show promises to be a complete entertainment package for the fight show fan and will makes full use of the multi-million dollar entertainment complex at Logan. The show features a professional fight card, an extraordinary light and video show with fresh tunes cranking through a state of the art sound system.  Combined with a mixture of entertainers including the beautiful Madness Girls who will be dancing the night away in and out of the ring, the night promises to captivate all who attend.

Doors will open at 6:30pm and fights start at 7:00pm.
